Experimental Modelling and Amplitude-Frequency Response Analysis of a Piecewise Linear Vibration System

The amplitude-frequency response of a nonlinear vibration system with the coexistence stiffness and viscous damping piecewise linearities are analysed by means analytical, numerical experimental investigations. First, mechanical model linear under simple harmonic base excitation is established, equation obtained averaging method. Second, an device built to realize system. coefficients identified least square Third, case studies conducted illustrate effect clearance amplitude on response. results show that introduction significantly decreases at primary resonance. stiffness, coefficients, resonance frequency range bi-stable state depend amplitude. consistent theoretical predictions simulation method backward differentiation formulas. This research provides instructive ideas design isolator in practical engineering.
